It is seated on the bank of river Bhagirathi and holy birth place of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and popularly known as "Gour Gangar Desh" . It was once the 'Oxford of Bengal' because of the presence of many knowledgeable Sanskrit Pandits .And now another feather got added to the crown to glorify our native town Nabadwip due to the foundation of TIGPS.
